I still have a bulldozer

While using the bulldozer it started to overheat. So I called the rental people. I asked if thay wanted me to go on and fix it. It needed a thrmostat I could have changed it in 20 minuts. But thay said not to thay were going to send me another dozer. So 4 days later Toolbabe goese to get the mail and comes back and says that thay had delivered the new dozer. Some how thay had unloaded and reloaded the bulldozers and I didnt even know it. I had told them to blow the airhorn when thay came and thay didnt. And I know why. I had paid for a D-5 and thay brought a John Deer 450 to replace it. The 450 is the same as a D-4.
Well anyway I used it. It to broke down, The hoses on the front were leaking like a sive. And one finely blew. So instead of calling the rental people and waiting a week or more for another dozer I went on and fixed it. One new hose and a new fitting on another and 15 gallons of hyd oil and $165.00 later I was working again.
When I finished with it I called them. I told them that I had fixed the hoses and asked if thay would reimburse me. Thay said no and that thay were not leaking when thay brought it to me. So no money back. I told them it was out by the road and to come get it. It is still out there after 3 weeks. I dont know why thay havent came to get it. I wounder if thay are going to try to charge me more time. Or if I get to keep it. I could plant flowers around it.
There is one other thing about it. I had singed for the D-5. The paper had the ser# on it. And I never singed for this one. So if thay try to charge me more how can thay prove I had possion of it?
What do you all think? I am just hopeing that nobody vandilizes it. It is out buy the road quite a ways from the house. I thought about bringing it up to the house but it wont start now. And I dont want to jump it.

Tools - I'd have that baby parked out behind my garage, not hidden but out of sight. Maybe they'll forget about it

I'd send them a nice letter saying that the rent on the space where it's parked is now up to $400.00, and will increase by $200.00 per day for every day after today's date! Hell, get your money back, and don't let them have it unless they pay!

as a equipment mechanic, i will agree with lurker, say you are charging them rent on parking it and if they still do not come get it file a lien on the piece, just my 2 cents. as long as the hour meters add up you should noit have anything to worry about.

yeah, I'd do the rent thing as well. But, in the meantime, I would be using that thing for every project and future project I had ever though of, at least if they don't reimburse, you got way more than your $165 out of it.

look into filing a mechanics lein on it. or whatever your state calls it. unfortunatley most states will require you to notify the dmv or other licensing body. they in turn will notify the owners who will come get it. if they dont it's yours. in tx its 30 days after notification.
