From the years 1630-1998 just over 6 million immigrants came to the USA so most of the population, here are natural born Americans.
If the senate amnisty passes it will allow per year more immigrants than this nation has absorbed in it's entire history, all years combined!

accurate or near accurate. If I am wrong I will apoligize. This figure of 6,000,000 Immagrants up to 1998 seems quite a bit low. Then again, maybe I aint as sharp as I used to be. Note: I am not for these watered down Illegal Immigrants bills in congress.
I hope someone younger goes over CWwatson's posted website figures that is younger than me. These figures dont seem to this old critter to be

Joeaf1911a,
If someone can find numbers that conflict with these fine with me. I was surprised at the low number myself. If these numbers are correct it means we will allow more immigrants in one year then this country has seen in it's 230 years combined!
The 20 million Bush and the senate want to give amnisty to will bring in 100 million relatives in just the first ten years. That means almost 27,400 PER DAY!. The daily amount will exceed some years!
6 million seems way too low for around 370 years. No doubt the offical census data is not nearly as accurate as the information posted in the first link but as I read the census charts there were already 6 million foreign born folks living in the USA as far back as 1880 and over 14 million in 1930. By 1890 nearly 15% of our population was foreign born and it was not until 1940 that the percentage of the foreign born population dropped below double digets. Where did all these people come from?
Both correct, the figure is higher. The second column of the chart is yearly average of the era given and needs to be Xs the number of years from the first column.
All years totaled is just under 60 million as shown in the chart. Still about half of what amnisty will allow in 10 years alone if given to the 20 million here and they brimg in about 100 million relatives too.
So in 10 years we will take in twice as many people as the last 376 years combined.
