Check out his reserve price of under 450. Oh my gosh, this is killing me. A mutilated, IMO, Nagant revolver, he's trying to sell it as if its something special, with no way of proving it as being special, please stop![:D]

I have an old hammer double sxs that I've had for sale for ever it seems like. (I don't want to sell it to a cowboy action shooter who would cut it down.) Anyway, the story I tell is that it was the gun used by Granny in the Beverly Hillbillies, it always gets a laugh. This guy might have swallowed hook line and sinker when somebody overcharged him.

    Remember Ruby Ridge.
I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly

I like the custom - "non-leather" holster. Maybe his wife made it for him.[:p]

Rob,believe or not that gun is in the latest flyer from S.O.G. Wholsale price is $249.00 so his asking price is not that high. The one you are thinking of is a different animal.

Before the recent imports being sold by Southern Ohio Gun that ATF just mentioned, I had seen exactly TWO of these Nagant target pistols in 25 years in the business! These pistols were never commercially imported into the United States before this year and they were RARE! If you notice the seller states that his pistol bears no importers marking and is in excellent condition. The usual way pistols of this type enter the country (legally that is) is for a service member to purchase it from an overseas dealer and import it personally using a Form 6A 5330.3C. Import regulations mandate that if the firearm bears a serial number using Cyrillic characters (as used in Russia) then these must be remarked using the equivelent in the Latin alphabet. The question should be whether or not it is worth a $150 premium ($400 vs. $250 from SOG) to own this pistol without importers markings...I would say yes.

    Mark, ATF,
Ok, I'll give you the few points about its being rareer than the regular nagant, and the sights on it, and the lack of importers markings, but its still a Nagant. I have one, come on guys, this gun isnt worth a crap when compared to any American gun, collector value or no, I dont see anyone paying that kind of money for that gun, even if it was capable of shooting one holers at 50 yds., I still wouldnt. I got a sense of humor, but I have an even better sense of what something is worth.[:o)]

True enough Ryan, but now you have a clear example of what types of guns appeal to the two differeing groups of gun owners: the "shooters" and the "collectors". Rarity, condition, and lack of import markings made this gun more valuable than a typical Nagant. Your own Nagant pistol, if it were a non import, would be worth a large premium over the current imported examples. This is the same reason that an M1 Garand collector will pay double the price (or more) for a non import M1 (most in fact won't touch an import). These rifles won't shoot any better, but this is not why they are being purchased.

Rarity, condition, and lack of import markings...

Interestingly, I used to apply the same criteria to the women I dated.

Mark: I didn't mind the WARNING: Read manual before using... stamping on domestic models, but those foreign date codes were more than I could stand. Oddly, my first wife was Israeli; go figure.
