my wife went and took the ASVAB and physical for the Navy this morning. All week long she was worried to death that she would fail the asvab. or be too fat. she passed both with flying colors and many pounds to spare! i'm just so proud of her. First time in her life she has done something she can really be proud of.

    Congrats. Not sure how motivating the "not too fat" line was for her, but alright anyway. Goit a quick question/observation for you Marine. Why is it nearly all female Marines are phsically fit and able to proudly wear their well-fitting uniform,but most of the Amry gals, well..... you know the deal.

    Just wondered what you thought. I mean you can only do so many push-ups, sit-ups and 3 mile runs, right. What gives. Is there something in our female APFU that repels the aerobic activity benefits?

    Can't believe Michelle even came close to a weight problem, the lady is no where near fat. Me thinks maggie is doing a bit of stiring![:D]

    as far as doing something she can be proud of, those too, were HER words. I think she's done a great deal to be proud of. two great kids, a loving husband(me), got excellent grades in her medical assistant school, etc, etc, etc. but she doesnt see it that way. part of the problem is her parents. nothing she ever did was good enough for them and she was NEVER praised for anything. btw, she has read this thread about 4 times so far.

    We only met once, but I can tell you, you're tops in my book. I was impressed with the family I saw, and the mother and wife you were. Those kids were the sweetest, best manored, well behaived I had seen in a long time. That only comes from a strong good mother and father. You have lots to be proud of. If your mom and dad can't see it, it's their problem. Like I said, you're tops in my eyes, and that old jarhead you married ain't so bad either![:D]

    Been there done that with the parents routine....and had it with an ex husband as well....
    Michelle...no matter what the hubby says or how often he says it, you will never get over those feelings...been there...and sometimes still there...*lol

    Thank you to all for the encouraging words. It really meant alot to hear from all of you. Yes, I am proud of my family, but this is something I thought I could never do. I worked very hard to get here. My wondeful husband helped me get to this point with his encouraging words and support. I will post a picture of me in uniform when I get one.

    NightStalker: Marine women might look good in their uniforms, but I'm going to be the best looking woman in a Navy uniform. j/k[;)]
