How many here think that she is innocent on her stock sale?

I think she had insider help before she sold.

I think the jealous wannabes and rat fink socialists and commies are hot to take her down like they attacked Cathy Lee and Helmsley.
Personally, I think she's guilty but there are a lot bigger fish to fry
and that's where the focus needs to be.
    I hope she gets off.

She is not being tried for that. They are claiming she inflated the stock of her company by lying about the stock sale & they are also claiming obstruction of justice. It seems to me that she had a fiduciary duty to protect the value of the stock.
If the charge was insider trading she might be guilty but these charges are really stretching. What is even worse is that her lawyer is not allowed to mention to the jury that she has not been charged with insider trading.

Gruntled, it's not about her company's stock, but, Imclone's. Her own company's stock really took a dive after the allegations came out. I agree that there are a lot bigger fish to fry out there. I think the amount in question was less than 100k.

I dislike her enough that my daughters friend bought me a sign that says "Martha Steward does not live here!" She is guilty, even though I dislike her,the courts should have better things to do.

I agree with v35. While the prosecutors are wasting money going after her for what... A $10,000 dollar insider-trading charge?... the folks who ripped off thousands of investors and stole hundreds of millions of dollars (Enron and WorldComm) are living the good life without so much as seeing a single day in court.

I thought they were trieing her for LYING! She told the grand jury that she didnt have any advanced info on the stock, ETC ETC! And the guy that told her admitted to it to save his own butt..

Actually, her trial is not directly concerned with the Inclone(Sp) sale itself. The Feds say she was lying to protect her company's stock by saying she was innocent in the Inclone deal. I guess protesting your innocence is a violation of Federal law.

OJ walked, but they'll probably hang Martha. Such is justice in this country anymore.
