12-year-old drove car with drunk dad in passenger seat
Police say a Adrian Kegler allowed his 12-year-old son to drive his SUV while he sat in the passenger seat inebriated.
TAMPA, FL -- Police say a Tampa man allowed his 12-year-old son to drive his SUV while he sat in the passenger seat inebriated.
The boy was trying to turn onto 11th Street from Linebaugh Avenue Saturday night when the GMC Yukon he was driving hit another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle is 8 months pregnant.
She told officers she was not injured, but asked to be taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The officers said they smelled alcohol on Adrian Kegler's breath. He was arrested and charged with child neglect and allowing an unauthorized operator to drive his vehicle.
The collision caused minor damage to both vehicles.
The boy was released to his mother.
