(They sell well on Ebay - used to sell them there.
I had an 'endless supply' that lasted three years!
It was a VERY GOOD run[:D])

Yep - most are not worth much BUT if you have the
sun purpled (1870's - early 19teens) OR any RR
marked, army marked insulators you've got something
    that collectors want.

Those marked with the manufacture's name are a
big plus - usually those without a name or initial
marked are pretty worthless - unless the glass is a
    hard to find glass.

Sometimes foreign insulators demand the big bucks -
early ones from sparsely peopled areas, etc., etc., etc.

When I was a kid up in
    Maine a store owner
used to give ue a nickle
(I think) for the blue ones
    and I don't remember what
    for the others.

When I was a kid, I must have shot five thousand of those things, There was a railroad dump site about 1/4 mile from my house. Everyone used to shoot there guns back there. We had lots of days where we would set up glass insulators and blast away. It wasn't until about twenty years late that they became valuable.[:D][:(]

I have a gang of them, but they apparently are not valuable, at least not on Fleabay.

    Cowdoc,
I know the feeling. Was a lineman for 7 years, for SW Bell, Santa Fe RR, and as a contractor wrecking out old open-wire leads. There have been, no doubt, thousands or tens of thousands of dollars slip through my hands.[:I][:(]
