TurboTax Basic problem solved, sort of

I'm either a genius or an idiot and right now I'm voting for idiot. I'm pretty pissed off at somebody right now and I don't know whether it's TurboTax, hughesnet or the IRS.

I had a few minor problems with TurboTax Basic but I found a way around all of them and was finally ready to transmit my tax to the IRS. It said I wasn't connected to the internet.

TurboTax was able to connect to the internet to download updates. It downloaded and installed four of them, but it couldn't find the internet to connect to TurboTax Live Community or to e-File my tax.

I called TurboTax and talked to a nice lady who really didn't have any idea what the problem was so she finally told me to try again the next day.

After I tried again the next day I talked to another nice lady at TurboTax. She told me the trouble was a backlog at IRS. I should try two or three times a day until it goes through, but if it didn't go through, don't call back until Monday.

I even started a new return thinking there might be something wrong with the first return. Nothing worked.

The more I thought about it the more it didn't make any sense. I could understand the IRS shut down the system because of the backlog, but it should be able to connect to TurboTax Live Community.

Tonight, just for the hell of it I loaded TurboTax onto my laptop (Windows 7 64 bit) and did a new return from scratch. It went through slicker than grease through a goose.

The reason I loaded it on the VISTA 32 bit to begin with I read some reviews that said TurboTax didn't work well on WINDOWS 7 64.

It still won't connect with VISTA 32 through hughesnet, but it works like a charm on WINDOWS 7 64 Verizon.

I have a problem with somebody, but I don't know if it's TurboTax or hughesnet or the IRS.
The road to hell is paved with COMPROMISE.
