Texans Beware

I have 10 acres of posted, private property in the county. The skunks and armadillo's are digging holes every where on my property. I shot at a skunk and don't know if I hit it or not, it just turned and ran off.
My neighbor has accused me of shooting her dogs, dogs that they let run loose, dogs that I have never seen and didn't know they had.
Most people around me shoot a lot; it could have been any one of them.
Deputy looked and saw no evidence of shooting, but still I was charged. I have been told if this was a different county, charges would not have been filed.
I have been charged with a felony and could face 6 months to 2 years in state prison, and 10,000 dollar fine, loss of CHL.
Has anyone else had a problem with this?

The prosecutor will likely take you aside and try to get you to cut a deal, to plead guilty to a lesser included charge. They like to do this, because it saves time and work, and it still counts as a conviction.
My dear Dawnie was a victim of such prosecutorial shenanigans back in 1999. She didn't have me in her life then, or I would have told her to tell the DA to pound sand and prove up his case if he had one, which he didn't.
I have gotten to the point in my career that I hate prosecutors more than defense attorneys. At least with a defense attorney, you know exactly whom and what you are dealing with.
What the heck county are you in? Let me guess. Travis?
