They've improved the functions since the last time I checked it out. I think it used to be called Google maps. Can zoom in pretty good in major cities. Not so good in rural areas.

Googleearth was next to useless when I was on dialup, but went broadband a few days ago, and it's soooo much better.[:)]
conniption fit when they saw the resolution that was initially
being used. They quickly 'downsized' the resolution to where
it is today - pretty awful, from what it was during the first few
weeks! The Navy intel guy are still laughing about it here.[:D]
Here is a picture from Google Earth of the lake I just bought 5 acres of property on. This picture is zoomed out to 51,000 feet but I have looked at it from about 3,000 feet. This lake is 70 miles NW of Fairbanks, 22 miles SE of Manley Hot Springs and 35 miles N of Nenana. Pike up to 25# have been taken there so far. Some of the best Moose hunting in the state surrounds it. That's the Tanana River going around it. The lake is 4 miles off the river and it is 1.2 miles across from N to S and 1 miles across from E to W. The plans for a 20'X28' cabin are already in the works.
Cool --- Good for you.........[^]
