I don't know about the rest of you but I read his dribble in G&A almost every month (my sub runs out in 2013) but lately I think he's just about lost whats left of his mind, Lately he's been contridicting himself on earlier articles. Also he just rambles about anything including doing laundry. He's shot in my opinion and as a matter of fact I think some of the members could post some better ramblings, lets nominate one. My vote would be Pabooger, at least theres some substance from his articles[;)].

I know this may get in the way of "bad" cop "good" cop BS
along with all the other useless blather posted here.
Anyway, like him or not the firearms/writers group lost a good one today.
Long live the Colt 1911.

Wikipedia states that Cooper died today.
Is it not strange that most the pups here
have little clue who we are talking about??
Take care Pinkerton..cover your six.
I pray for your boy's safety while in service.
Two kids from my deer lease are over in the sandbox now.
God rest his soul.
He was a relic...and salty marine.
They passed him by because he was more educated than the publisher.
I did not always agree with the old dude...but he was as we say in Texas a "Top hand".
I will miss his wit and wisdom, only wish I'd gotten his book earlier and sent it to be autographed.
Whether you agreed or disagreed with his perspective, it was always food for thought.
RIP Colonel.

He wasn't always the rambling old fella he has been in his writings in recent years, and that day is coming for all of us.
Sure, he was arrogant in his younger days. But my Dad used to say "if you can do do it, it's not bragging", and Col. Cooper could always do it. Sometimes we confuse confidence for arrogance too, and he was always confident and intelligent.
I didn't always agree with him, but I for one will miss him.
R.I.P Col. Cooper....................................................
RIP
RIP

Another bit of his that stuck with me was when he eulogized Enzo Ferrari. He mentioned that Ferrari was entitled to be called Doctor, Commadore, and more I can't remember, but that Ferrari had achieved that true status attested to by a name that was greater than any title. I submit that Col. Cooper stands that test.
I think I'll go re-read the first book that I ever read until it fell apart in my hands: "Cooper On Handguns".
He used to post on here? Anybody know his username so I can find his posts?
Do not go gently into that good night, colonel. do not go gently into that good night.
Forgive me for my ignorance at not knowing much abut cooper, but was he the guy that always had the various short articles on the last page of guns & ammo?
Yes, that was him PATBUZZARD.
There is another thread started on him by nononsense in General Discussion titled "Jeff Cooper passes" with alot of good history on things he did. -- Worth reading.
