Because of the suspected serial killer in south Louisiana, the governor has urged Louisiana women to get guns and learn how to use them.

Louisiana is also the hardest hit state with regard to the West Nile Virus, which is spread by mosquitoes.

That prompted this new Louisiana bumper sticker: "LOUISIANA WOMEN: PACKING HEAT and WEARING DEET"

I've spent a total of 3 months in Louisianna and my advice to those women is to just leave the state. Did two rotations there for JRTC. I don't know something about not being able to shower for 6 weeks tends to bring down the moral of this troop.

mkirkland, you can shower, you just can't dry off afterwards! Or not unless you have an AC set on extra high fan. I hate shoveling snow, but I detest taking salt tablets even more!

Actually the first time I visited it was freezing cold. The second time it was 105 degrees with 100% humidity. It was my own private hell(shared with a couple of thousand other souls) And actually the only shower we were allowed was Baby wipes or a 5 gallon jug over the head w/ our friends holding up ponchos. When it's below zero there is no chance I am going to poor freezing water over my head.

Yah maybe a little exaggeration I just know I was miserable dirty smelly cold tired and low crawling through sticker bushes Although it was the first time I ever saw fireflies. I had my NODS on on guard duty and I thought OPFOR was screwing with me. Those things really light up in night vision.
