Shameless plug Winchester M1

My house sold in four days and we signed the papers last night so I'll never be able to sell all of the M1s I have lined up before the big move to Orlando, FL. In any case, I have a nice looking Winchester Field Grade which needs a new home:

I don't get many Winchesters and this is a nice one. I have to be out of here by 23 June so you probably won't see me on the boards much.

And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

Are you brining that full stocked bar with you?
Let me know when you get to Orlando . We know of a few places to show you.....

I'll be looking forward to it.
As for the bar...According to the moving company, who I suppose would know, they have an interstate shipping limit of 60 bottles (5 cases) of "spirits". That means the second tier stuff won't make the trip. I already have most of the good stuff packed and it is out in the garage awaiting the arrival of the big truck on 21 June.
The big plus for me was they could:
1) move the gun vaults and all of the guns: which must be properly padded, secured and the locked in the vaults (though not a single round of ammunition is allowed, and the man said that they weren't kidding.
2) they could transport the motorcycle along with my household goods, and at $200 under the cost of hiring a motorcycle moving firm haul it. There are lots of bikes transported into and out of Florida (Bike Week ect.).
Now all I have to do is get busy packing!
Why the move to Orlando? Change of scenery?
I had never planned on retiring here in CA, but the real estate crash back in 2007/8 really hit my home value hard, though not as bad as some. I was never close to being "underwater" and I always had equity, but selling at a loss is never anything I like to do. Although the market hasn't fully recovered to pre 2007 prices, it was close enough to justify the sale. I can pay off my current mortgage, purchase my new home outright and even have some money left over for the move and to buy some new furniture.
I can't stand really cold weather, so a moderate climate was important. No state income tax in Florida certainly didn't hurt. I already have some friends who live in the Kissimmee area so I won't be alone.
The move will be a big change, but I've never shied away from making changes.

Sounds like a plan finally coming together. Congrats. Of anywhere in Florida, I like Orlando the best.
Enjoy your new adventure.

Mark, as a native Floridian myself, I'd just like to say, "Welcome to the Sunshine State".
That and definitely add uninsured motorist coverage to your automobile insurance policy. [;)]
I have moved a number of times and I always moved firearms and ammo to one of my relatives or close friend before the big move and brought in later once I settled in. Movers can be * about guns and ammo.

I'll have a table at the Crossroads of The West Gun Show at the Orange County Fairgrounds next weekend. If you are at the show, stop by and say hello.
Good luck on your move. Leaving a state like CA would be more like an escape. FL is pro gun.

Movers are also prone to hiring local 'lumpers' to help them unload.
You do not want any locals knowing what you own!
(specially if you aren't in residence at the time of delivery)
I was ready to place a bid but looked at you inspection policy. Why the AS IS/ NO REFUND inspection. Not saying there is anything wrong with you or the gun but I have had a few stinkers shipped to me in the past and as such always a little shy when I see there is no inspection.
Brand new firearms which I have purchased myself are sold with an inspection policy. 75 year old surplus military firearms originating with the CMP which are Field Grades and which I purchased from another party are not.
If the rifle is not as represented: It is not actually a Winchester M1 (despite the fact the Winchester markings on the heel of the receiver are clearly shown) and the parts I specifically stated are not in fact Winchester parts: The bolt, trigger housing, trigger guard and hammer...we can talk. Otherwise you get what you see and what is described.
That is just the way I do business.
I'm in the "four corners" area, rt. 192 & rt. 27 south Clermont. Just a 10 minute drive to WDW.
I know that we have a lot of GB members in that area of the country and I'll look forward to meeting as many of you as I can.
