Does anyone know what happens to these forms after you fill them out? Do they stay with the gun shop? If so, what happens when that shop closes when the owners decide to retire? Inquiring minds wanna know............

My local dealer told me that I had to fill out this form in front of him. Is that true? If so, why do they have the fillable forms on-line?

4473 Part II NOTC (Non Over The Counter) can be filled out in a place of your choosing and then mailed to your dealer (certified or registered)at your convenience. There is a mandatory seven day wait (minimum) while a copy of the completed form is sent to your Chief Law Enforcement Officer for his approval. Otherwise you have to fill out the form in the presence of the dealer or one of his employees.

By the way, in nearly 40 years in the gun business I've encountered exactly two dealers who have ever used 4473 Part II and both of them were located in Alaska (former GB member aglore being one of them).
