    $47K and it's been "restored"?

For 47k plus 200 s/h, I'd want him to wear gloves when handling it... I sure would.

Some shotguns for no apparent reason go for absolutely insane money. This isn't Hitler's personal pistol, it's an old double. Just because just ONE was made in that chambering doesn't make it worth that to ME...though I suppose to a certain type of multi-millionaire collector it might.

As to the restoration, no doubt it IS an outstanding job; as to whether you think it SHOULD have been restored- that's iffy. Professional job like that ain't just a re-blue and polyurethane basement job for sure... and it certainly depends on the condition of the piece before restoration, but to ME, a gun that rare should have been left 'as is.'

I'll bet David would be happy having you call him directly, buying thru his store, and skinning GB out of their fees.

My opinion is that these types of ads are just advertising. Can anybody really believe that someone will hit the "buy it now" instead of calling to make a deal?

According to the invoice it's price is $136.97. Looks like someone is scalping a product- and it's not even original.[:0]

I'm guessing that insurance on $47,000 would have to run at least $200.

No difference between that and a new Parker repro now that it's been restored.

I think the $200 for the shipping is right on par. Shipping and insurance is not free, no matter who says it is. I recently sold a 71 Cuda shaker air cleaner assembly for $5k. The buyer wanted it packaged and insured by UPS to take any chance of loss out of the equation. He paid $450 for the packing, insurance and shipping and was extremely happy with the service and the air cleaner.

Yup, $200 is a good price for shipping a $47,000 item.

I just called my man Scott over at UPS and he told me that the insurance charges alone would run $619 on $47K...The seller is giving away at least $400 on the shipping.
