Islamic Terror Attacks on American Soil
You might not know it from the grand pity party that vocal Muslims seem to have thrown for themselves in the years since 9/11, but only one Muslim in America was killed in a vigilante "revenge" attack following the horrific slaughter of thousands in the name of Allah. That would be Waqar Hasan, a Muslim convenience storeowner who was gunned down by Mark Anthony Stroman in Texas. Hardly an average American, Stroman was a white supremacist with a felony criminal record who went on to shoot two more people in the following weeks. However, he did claim to be motivated by anger after having watched the twin towers fall.

Muslim-Americans killed "in revenge": 1
Thankfully, an American jury sentenced Mark Stroman to death. The same cannot be said of many Muslim terrorists such as Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset Al Megrahi, who not only have sanctuary in Muslim countries, but are often treated as heroes by devout followers of Muhammad.
Of course, 9/11 was neither the first nor the last time that Muslims have killed Americans on U.S. soil in terror attacks. In fact, since that day, Muslims have killed at least 66 people in 40 separate acts of terrorism in the United States (by the standards that Muslim-American groups set for hate crimes). Perhaps more importantly, there have been plenty of mass murder plots against Americans by Islamic terrorists that were thwarted by the FBI, law enforcement and overseas intelligence operations both before and after 9/11, as well as several that were simply botched, such as the attempt to blow up Times Square.
By contrast, Muslim-Americans do not appear to be in any special danger from murderous (non-Muslim) religious fanatics, even in a nation awash in firearms. Identity groups, such as CAIR, whine incessantly about relatively trivial incidents while turning a blind eye to the horrible violence that is meted out daily in the name of their religion. This distasteful petulance offers insight not only into the character of Islam, but also the America's impressive religious tolerance.

I think you may be mistakenly putting style over the substance that Smitty was trying to convey.
As I recall, we were told very clearly in the forum that one of the "benefits" of 100 billion bucks we were flushing down the Iraqi toilet every year was that (in effect):
It is better to fight the terrorists in Iraq rather than in the United States. From the day we entered Iraq, there has not be a singe terrorist attack on US soil so that money going to Iraq is well spent.
Now I'm looking at that list and I sure see a lot of dates between 2003 and our departure in 2011. What's up with that?

I recall the "No attack since Iraq" chant, and one of the mainstays was ECC, the former moderator. I don't know if his thread telling me that we are safe from terror as long as we stay in Iraq is still around somewhere, he had a habit of deleting anything that he didn't want to read. Or was it his wife? Since he'd given her his moderator password, you never could tell who was moderating that night.

When I look at the list, the biggest loss of life was 9/11/2001. Which was before we were in Iraq.
I wonder what we did that drove those poor folks to slaughter our fellow citizens then. Must have been pretty bad.
The fact that the incidents since 2003 have been far lower level attacks is likely significant to the discussion of cause and effects, but why let reality get in the way of a good narrative? Carry on.

Even my public school math makes it add up to 4,380 per year, or several hundred more than the total killed by Muslims in the long 42 year list we were shown. There is no reason to doubt that list, the folks with those kinds of agendas are pretty thorough.
My numbers show that in those 42 years an average of 72 Americans each year were killed by Muslims, verses 4,380 killed each year by illegal aliens.
Not to discount those yearly 72 lost lives, but taking into account the over $500 billion pissed away in Iraq (we won't even count Afghanistan), and the tragic loss of over 4,000 American fighting men and women as well as those who were injured and maimed, wouldn't those same resources have been far more productive for our safety and security if spent securing our own borders? We'd suffer the tragic loss of a GB religious agenda, but we'd be a whole lot safer, and it would be a whole lot cheaper.
Basing a question on one very important unknown, and one assumption made unlikely by the absence of political will to do anything with the laws and resources we have, makes it unanswerable.
The entire price tag of the new 700 mile fence along the US-Mexico border was supposed to be (I think) $3 billion, but that was too much money so only selective portions of the fence were built. $3 billion is too much for a fence to protect our border? We probably gave $3 billion in arms and equipment to the puppet troops of out Iraqi stooge government--The biggest bunch of idiots since the clowns we propped up in Saigon. I'm sure most of that $3 billion in arms and equipment has either been abandoned, or simply handed over directly to ISIS.

300 Americans are killed each year by ladders, or roughly one each day, and not the 700 per year that I guessed at. I am a bit surprised at the 164,000 yearly emergency room treated injuries resulting from ladder accidents. There must be a lot of Muslims sabotaging ladders to generate that number of injuries [;)].
