Those fee credit reports

OK, I got one of these on the net but it doesn't give you a "Credit Score". You have to pay for this. Anyway is there any way to relate your report to a score without paying the $10 or whatever it is? Or do I just anti-up the $10 bucks?

Basically...NO. The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act mandates that you be given a free credit report every year but since the law makes no mention of your actual FICO credit score (which is what everyone actually wants) it will cost you. There are a few sites that allow you to sign up for a fee, get your score and then cancel, but people that I have spoken to say that actually canceling is made cumbersome enough that it typically takes one credit card billing cycle to accomplish. That means that they get one months fee before you can ditch the program.
