Man dies after cutting arm during break-in

Oak Ridge, Louisiana-AP -- Police say a burglar made a fatal mistake when he broke into a home in Louisiana.

He apparently bled to death after cutting his arm on a broken window.

A large amount of blood was found inside the house after the burglary Thursday.

Later, a man's body was found about a half mile away.

Sheriff's deputies say the man had a large cut on his right arm and it appears he died of massive blood loss.

They suspect he got cut when he put his arm through a window he had broken to unlock the door.

Deputies say money stolen from the home was found on the body

Somebody should've hit him with a brick!

Hey, serves him right. The sad part is the burglar's family is probably entitled to some reparations from the victim.

Several years ago, in the city where I work, was a burglar who did the exact same thing. We didn't have a dog then, so we couldn't find where he had hidden up under some bushes a block or so away.

Poor fellow bled right out. Final conviction.

Back in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey a highschool kid was stripping a stolen car and the car sunk while he was under it.

The Pine Barrens is exactly like it sounds Pine Trees, Sand and Blue Spring fed Ponds.

Oh, That's also where The Jersey Devil lives.

There was an elderly woman in Austin who was on the news about five years ago. It seems she lived in a not-so-desirable part of town, and had been a victim of several bold daytime burglaries within a short period of time, due to her age and apparent helplessness.

One afternoon she was in her kitchen when the kitchen window began inching up. After the window had been raised, she saw a pair of hands grab onto the ledge, and a man outside attempting to pull himself up to the window.

This woman had been doing a little home improvement work and still had a hammer and some nails close by. She grabbed the hammer and a nail and actually nailed one of the guy's hands to the window ledge. The reporter asked her if she called 911 immediately after "capturing" the burglar. Grandma replied "No, I made myself a pot of coffee, THEN I called 911."

I'm just glad the scumbag is off the streets now. Too bad the homeowner didn't get the privilige to shoot the cowardly thief.
