How about some suggestions for a goose gun?

Right now I'm hooked on Benellie Super Black Eagle.

    I couldn't afford a Benelli, so I got a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag. It's a very rugged gun for the price of $200.

Whatever you get, you might as well go for something that is chambered for 3.5". Even if you don't need that much power, at least you have it as an option.

I would say the Ruger Red Label 12 GA is about as good as it gets. But its not cheap,if you want more bang for your Duck[:D] the Mossberg Model 835 3 1/2in Mag is a good choice.I have one with factory camo and I like it,if money isnt a factor buy a Beretta.

    Good Luck!!

Money is always a factor, with everything right..??

835 huh, many of you use pump guns for geese? I always thought autoloaders were the pick, but I'm just getting into duck & goose hunting so I'm still in the learning curve..

I do plan on staying with a 3-1/2

If you get good with a pump you can use the recoil to work the action almost as fast as an autoloader. Now I did say almost.

Not to mention the huge psychological advantage that a pump has. The sound of a pump will scare the snot out of anyone that hears it.

What about one of the Browning BPS 10 gauge (ouch) or 12 gauge 3.5 inch?

You're a smart man... You've already got it figured out! I've had mine for 10 years now and it still works awesome. I liked mine so much I no longer have ANY other 12 gauge shotguns (and I've had some fine O/U models too).
