How is Remingtons customer service?

I recently purchased a new Remington 700 Youth Model in 308 caliber. I had looked the rifle over pretty good at the store before I finished the purchase and the only thing I noticed was a slight mold marking on the trigger guard. After I got it home I stripped it down to give it a thorough cleaning and when I took a closer look at the trigger guard I realised that it was not a mold mark but was in fact a small hairline fracture. I went to the Remington website to find out if I could get an e-mail address or phone number to their service dept but found I had to register as a member in order to ask them anything. I did so and told them what had happened and am waiting for a reply. Have any of you guys had any dealings with their service dept? I guess I just want to know what to expect. Thanks.

I had good dealings with them on two occasions. As long as they are better than Winchester you are ok.

we dont deal with any remingtons here in our gun shop but if you find a gunshop that is a authorized remington dealer they can help you out.they give us dealers better customer service then normal customers over the phone.

just call them and they will give instructions on sending it back. Or,..more than likely, they will give you the address of a "certified" repair center/dealer somewhere "relatively" close by,. and you take it to them. They tell remington that in fact it is broken,..and remington ships them a new trigger guard to be installed by them,..and you pick up your rifle free of charge.

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

Although I still am a Remington fan (I don't know why) I had piss-poor luck with thier authorized repair centers and the people I talked to directly at Remington weren't helpful at all. I was 99% what was wrong with it, since they weren't any help I just bought an aftermarket part for it and that was all it took. If I have any more experience with them like that I won't buy another one. Not to mention the fact that they are shoving thier ultra-mags down our throat with their new offerings.
