Since Thanksgiving I have been primarily north of I-80 and in snow, sub zero temps, ice, high winds and drifiting snow and everything else winter has to offer. A couple days ago dispatch asked what my plans were and I said someplace warm! How about a short two dropper to Texas, sure, weather is nice in Texas. Get the trailer and trip pack, call the stores in Childress and Wichita Falls to schedule my appointments and am informed weather is in the 70s and 80s, woohoo!! I get there, temps in the 30s [:(!]
Heading to Wichita Falls to empty out, call dispatch to let them know and she tells me tomcome back to Nebraska empty to get ahead of the ice storm. I get empty and get a message, stop in OK City and grab a load of shingles and drop them off in Wichita KS, so much for beating the storm. Get loaded late Thursday and park in OK City for the night, get up at 0400 and it's raining, freezing rain. I take off for Wichita, KS, hell with it, I'm a big boy and I got to go, ice be damned! Get to KS and run out of the storm. Get empty and come back to the plant.
Today was our formal company banquet for the transportation dept. Free food and booze, I didn't take part of the festivities, stayed long enough to get my plaque for a clean safety record for 2016 and collect my bonus. This morning I was given a building load to WA, normal route from here to WA is I-80 to I-84 to I-82, hell with that!! I stay out of WY in the winter, it's an artic wasteland with all the rookies in training with the mega carries getting their winter training, I aint going that way!
In the morning I'm heading north to I-90 and will stop at home for a day.
Will the black cloud give me nice weathet? We shall see!

Where I live in northern lower Michigan the winters and dark cloudy days on end can become quite depressing!
A couple years ago, my Doc did some bloodwork on me and found my vit. D levels were way low. He have me a shot of the stuff and told me to take 5000 mg over the counter daily.
Been very helpful in the SMILE factor at least in these dang cabin fever months![;)]
Back to the actual topic... BSR, If you ever know you are coming through OKC area again, holler at me and we can meet for lunch or something.
