Jake, I went to the local butcher shop to see if they had any venison jerky. No venison, but they had buffalo. Want some?

Heck yeah, send away!
I'll pick some up today. So what is the "good stuff" that * r done mentioned in the sticky?
If you have to ask, you don't need to know. [:D][;)]
Got it. So you get it trouble for non kid friendly stuff? Lots of minors in your camp that could find it hidden under your bed I guess.

Alcohol and Pornography is illegal to have in Iraq, Kinda like a "sin" I think. As is pork, etc etc. Mail says you arent to ship Alcohol, Aerosol cans, etc... To hell with it. Hide it good. [:D][:D]

They'd take it before it got to him, if they decided to search that box.

I think Batteries was on the list too. It was from some shoebox organization.

$25 will get a lot more than you might imagine.
One thing Jake asked me to send was Hoppes 9 powder solvent. I couldnt find any of the LARGE bottles like he wanted, so I got few of the small ones. So, I imagine gun cleaning stuff, jerky, more cleaning stuff, more jerky... [:D][:D]
Same here Zulu, if you can email me a addy of someone that doesn't get much over there and maybe a list, I'll ship some stuff that way.
I don't know anyone over there right now, everyone is stateside for now.

Is this accurate? Is there anything else?
The rest is spot on though.
AA batteries are in high demand and low supply here.
folks back home sent all sorts of make-up mirrors and such.
hard to shave w/o a mirror!
there was a black market in the camp for AA batteries! you think ammo prices are high? we were paying $10 EACH for AA's in the first couple weeks (until the care packages started arriving).
is anyone using rechargeable batteries over there? you can get two rechargeable AA's with a plug in charger pretty reasonable now. are you running off generators or local electric?

Here's an address for a soldier in my platoon who hasn't received one scrap of mail yet:

Why not let him on your comp, so he can sign up on gb?..
You'd be popular for sure. How much hot water would you been in if you were caught with some 'listerine'?
I know when I was over seas I sure missed my good buddy Mr. Jack D.

He would get in more trouble than I would think about chancing, IMO. Not to mention injury to another soldier if drunk and not know what he is doing, when called to combat. Never know
i have copied the address you provided and will probably have something out either tommorrow or monday.
godspeed to yall
Zulu....anything you KNOW you would like if we can scrounge it up for you guys?
I have a hard time keeping up with these threads sometimes so...anyone with input please send me an e-mail. I'll try to watch this better, but I sometimes get caught up and forget what I was doing.
Just sayin...
