Look what maggiethecat bought me today at the gun show!

Came downstairs from my nap and it's laying on my desk. Deb says Chris dropped it off, a gift for taking him on a canoe trip last week.

I already had the top one, he thought it needed company. [;)]

What a guy! [:D]

(spiny, you remember this now.) [;)]

Just spoke to Chris on the phone, said he's helping a friend with something and will be 3-4 hr's before he can get to his 'puter to reply.

Couldn't stand it, told him what I posted...Shou'da heard him scream! [:D] Actually said he expected me to refund the purchase price. Wow, after all the nice stuff I said. [:0]

    bdj,
this was one of Gene Stoners toys, designed back in the late 50's. Blue Book says, "with ported barrels, extendable wire stock, hooded front sight, and a hollow pistol grip containing cleaning kit, perhaps indicating a special military contract survival weapon."

Only two I've ever seen. Anyone know anything else about them, I'd sure like to hear it.

    Longhunter,
    heck of a trapline gun!

He wanted you to pay for it? What kind of a friend is that?[;)]

I thought of you today ODT. I went to a farm sale that probably had 100 guns. A bunch of your kind of rifles, you could have covered another whole wall with old single shots and strange 22s. There were two Quackenbushs, two Marbles game getters, a Hamilton 27, a Remington break open 22 with flip up peep, 1904 Winchester, several well used Stevens and assorted pump 22s. Also there was a USAF survival rifle and a lot of military rifles.

I bought three single shots today and a model 75 Winchester at an estate sale yesterday. That knocked a big hole in my gun money.[:0]
I may have to go back to work![xx(]

This farm sale is going to run for 4 days. (Two weekends) And I thought I had a lot of stuff.

Still, a very kind move and you have my appreciation for pickin' it up. They now hang out together, this way can show the stock extended on one and closed on the other.

    wundudnee,
Thanks for the thinkin' of, I've got all the Quack's I need except for that bicycle model, still hunting it. They sure are interesting little shooters. You said, "Also there was a USAF survival rifle and a lot of military rifles." What exactly was the survival gun? Really got me curious.

The survival rifle was a O/U .22 .410 with about a 1/4" space between the barrels. The butt stock was cutout and it was marked U.S. property. There were two of them, but the better one had had the barrels welded together and the other looked to have been run over by a tank, or dropped from the plane. One thing that would have spooked me was they sold a FA grease gun right off the table, no class 3.
    It brought $400.00.

Lots of old revolvers, pistols and derringers. Also a knuckleduster and a Chigago palm pistol in near perfect shape. A really interesting sale.

I did share Pa, pic is here for ya. [:D]

wundudnee, the O/U must be one of the Springfield Scout. Have three versions, ugly as sin, but shoot decent once you get used to the odd trigger.
