I've had a World Class "Plus" for a couple years ... never had any problems with it ... but then it doesn't get abused ... or even used too much actually ...

I have gone to using Nikon "Monarch" model for any rifles that may incur any rough handling, but I have a number of Tasco World Class scopes on different rifles (5) and for the money they have held up well for me.

I have two world class. One is a 3x9x40 on my "back up" 3030-it was on my primary 3030 until a couple of years ago. I think it is an excellent scope-an older one made in Japan. I also have a newer one, on my back up .22-it stinks. I think there are a few good ones out there, but I wouldnt take a chance blindly buying a new tasco.

I've owned several over the years and have had no problems, I agree the Japanese made scopes were of higher quality. I am thinking about a Leupold VX-2.

i will not allow a Tasco scope in my shop. A few years back ,I sold one of their spotting scopes to a good customer. I borrowed it back and took it to Colorado. It was still new in the box, never been opened. When I opeded it, it was in several pieces. When I got back home,I sent it back to Tasco. They said it had been abused. Called and talked yo the Pres. of tasco . He just said tough sh~!t. Cost me ( a dealer ) $60.00 to put it back together. They then sent it back C.O.D. The one I sold it to happens to make scope mounts for most black powder guns in the U.S. He even called and complained. They told him the same thing. Oh yeah, the damn thing just retailed for $79.95.[:(!][:(!]
