One of the finest men I have ever known. He loved to joke and If you needed help in any way he was there. Never heard him bad mouth anyone. He was deeply religious and I never heard him say a bad word. Gave me a 22 revolver when I was 19 and money couldn't buy it. Sister is taking it pretty hard.

It seems as I get older, there's more of this going on.
When I was a kid, it didn't register as much. Then a couple favorite uncles passed.
Three years, father in law. Two years ago, my brother. Last week, a friend [while shoveling snow].
Not looking forward to the sorrow in this coming decade. But we live, and go on.
