I recently learned that Ruger made a 9MM cylinder for the above. Have any of you used the 9MM and how does it shoot? What price range does a 9MM cylinder run? Thanks, Tom

Ruger still makes a 357/9mm with two cylinders. Shoots very well.

If you can find a 9mm cylinder it will cost you up to $100.00. There are not a lot of extras floating around and most people do not break up the set. There is a slight difference in bore diameter, 9mm is .355 and 357 mag is .357. If Ruger made there bore size in .357 and you shoot 9mm jacketed rounds of .355 there will be somewhat diminished accuracy (very much the same as the 22/22 mag). In the real world this is probably insignificant as no one is shooting 9mm single action revolvers as a target or long range round. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to shoot a bunch of 9mm's and have the versatility of the 357 mag then this is the way to go. They also made a 38-40/10mm combination.

What is the point if you have a 357 that can shoot 38 specials why bother with a nine mil?

It's not too hard to imagine a future where ammo is very scarce. I have one of these combo Rugers in case 9mm is all that I can find. I had a S&W revolver in 9 but had to let it go due to financial difficulties.
I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly
