Went to a live auction today. I usually wait until the end to start bidding as the crazy people have spent all their money.
I got:
A WWII OSS transmitter and key, a Leatherwood AR-15 scope mount, a Arisaka parts gun, a Carcano parts gun (both with good stocks), a SAA .22 barrel and six inserts for a Colt, a Savage 94 parts gun, a box of trigger locks, an old Bobby whistle, a brass corn shucker, some kind of CW pistol frame and barrel with a New York address, and some other as yet unidentified stuff. All for eighty six bucks!
Crimmy!, the SAA conversion will sell for more than that!

Viva la Auction!

Sounds like a great haul. Seems I seen one of those transmitters go for a hefty sum recently on fleabay.

Found the name on the CW pistol. Starr Arms Co. New York, Model of 1863. Made for two years. It was used in the Civil War according to everything I checked. Books pretty high too.[:p][:D]

My last auction bargain was a GI wood/canvas cot with the mosquito netting, unused, in the original box for only $4. Not quite so exciting or valuable as your haul, but I was pleased.
I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly
