computer help "Outlook can't access Word"

I can open and use Word but for some reason Outlook can't use it as my email editor. I have to send emails as plain text and default font only.

Does anyone know what settings I need to change to fix this?

Running the Indiana University version of XP Pro, if that matters.
I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly

If you are on the Indiana University server, network/sys admin could have locked down those functions.

If you are having this problem on a home computer, in Outlook goto Tools | Options | Mail Format and check "Use Microsoft Word to edit email..." and make sure that compose message is set to HTML.

The IU server has nothing to do with it, I graduated 2 years ago. I just mentioned that I have XP Pro in case the OS makes a difference.

I tried what you said but it didn't work. Outlook is already trying to access Word and that's when I get the error message.
