He was shooting my .308 from the prone position tonight and got whacked real good right between the eyes, just above the nose! Lots of blood, nothing a few butter fly tapes couldn't fix. Younger brother Marky though it was funny, I told him your days coming son, eventually it happens to all of us. I remember getting Whacked with Poppys .270 when I was 13.

    I remember my "first" time.

Marlin 336c that the scope was just a bit to far back, 3 stitches in the eyebrow later all was fine.

    Needed a cigarette after that[:D]

I have a 4 and 1/2 to 14 Leupold on it with a real long eyerelief, I can't for the likes of me fathom how he did it! He came walking across the road, with blood running down his face, I knew exactly what had happened! After I got thru laughing I chewed him out for not wearing his shooting glasses.
The best part is that school starts Wednesday, he's gonna have to answer a lot of questions from his buddies![:I]

You think that is bad, ask pabooger how long he looked through only one side of the binoculars before he found out that you were supposed to look through both sides. So help me God, this is a fact.

So help me God I still do!!! I do not like looking thru both sides, besides my head is so fat, they won't open up that far!!![:D]

And further more most obnoxious, abrasive, rotund big brother, if it's better to look through both sides why don't they just mount binocs on the gun instead of the scope??? See ya ain't so smart afterall. Hell I might be on to something here, they make bike seats that are for each cheek, why not a scope for each eye!!![:p]

    lmao..

first and last time i smacked myself with a scope, shooting my dad's 270 and the scope wasnt quite focused for my eyes, was seeing way too much black, so i moved my face forward, butt mustve fell off my shoulder, bam, right between the eyes, not a lot of blood though.

I've been smacked by a .30-30, a .30-06 AND a 12-gauge slug gun. Ain't purdy. I was being conscious of the fact that I was using a scope on the slug gun. I just couldn't get enough eye relief no matter how hard I tried.

I had a girlfriend that weighed all of eighty-six pounds who insisted on firing my .44 Mag revolver. Hit her square in the forehead & raised a mighty bump. Anyone asked her what happened she would reply, "He hit me." A few weeks later she insisted on using my 12 gauge shotgun instead of the 28 I wanted her to use. She then wound up telling everyone the bruise on her shoulder (it was huge)was my fault. Good thing that was over thirty years ago, in this day & age I would be in jail & before she could tell anyone that she was joking.

12 ga. slug gun got me. Blead like a stuck pig. How it didn't break my nose I still don't know. As long as no serious injury happened it is a good chuckle the first time. If it happens again.......the razzing should never stop.[:D]

What are you talking about, I shoot my friends 30/40 kraig w/ a steel butt plate when I got to his grandmas. I think its bigger than you little .308, and what does hitting you face have to do with a big caliber. If your eye is almost touching the scope, then your going to get nailed..common sense.. [:D]

Mrs. Blue was shootin Coyote270's model 12 down in pullman, I told her a 12ga was a little big - but nooooooo! She hit quite a few clays with it but kept loosing contact with the wood. Had a nice bruise on her cheekbone for a week. What does she tell her co-workers - you got it..... They all know me better'n that... I had one of them fancy Win 94's with the tang sight. I kept gettin closer to see through the little hole and bam - ouch (You would think I would have stopped then) Bam - ouch, Bam - ouch - right on the nose. Traded that one off.......She still laughs at me about that......

12 gauge + 3.5 inch turkey mags + face too close to scope = big cut on eyebrow
