Got to go shooting Sat. AND Sun!

Went out on Sat (see "Found some quicksand" post[B)]) and took the g-friends younger brothers out on Sun. They had a few [B)]'s and a few more [:0]'s but it went alright and reminded me why I don't want kids just yet.[:D] Followed the old trails out and found the downstream leg of the river we were at on Sat but about 15 miles south. It's very remote and rather inaccessible (especially by car) There should be at least three old ghost towns and who knows what else on that stretch of river so we're going to try to get a 3 or 4 man crew together soon for a weekend trip and head north up the canyon. That's deep in methamphetamine country but it'll be worth the risk to see some genuine ghost towns and buidings out in the middle of nowhere. Hopefully I'll be able to bring the digital cam and take some photos, although I'll have to keep it in a Ziploc bag (I'm clumsy [B)]) We're planning to do a one-day trip in two weeks and probably a full weekend soon after. It's beautiful down there right now because there's green grass and the river's running. It reminds me of the river shootout in Tombstone, grassy river valley, trees, yet still 100+ degrees[;)] Will keep everyone posted and will post pics ASAP[8D]

Typos and profanity, oh my! http://www.funky-town.org
When my buddies start bragging it is time to hand 'em the .410 and see what they're made of. [:D]

....(except muzzleloader season which I let a couple small bucks go by a couple of times, I never fired)....
[}:)]Where did you go wrong King'.[:0] Went from the clean, traditional, manly sport of muzzleloading to where you are today.[:D] It's a slippery slope when you leave.[:(!]
BTW I will post a pic' of the grips later. Couldn't get to it last night. No it was not for the snubnose. This is the brass frame 36 cal.

CVA now has began a limited production run on it again - but it's $400. Here's what I had (PR4200) http://www.cva.com/products/rifles/mount.htm
I sure like the safeties and the ease of cleaning (namely the removable breech plug) on the inlines. I haven't given up on the sidelocks, but I must admit that I have a reduced physical capacity thanks to several back surgeries and that alone might limit my muzzleloading anyway. None of my friends hunt the early season so what I shoot I have to get out of the woods. I've been working on them to get started into it. The season in Kansas for smokepoles is the end of September and they don't like the heat and bugs...
No kidding there, that's usually why they put 'em in the middle of nowhere. It's such an odd chemical smell, a real hodgepodge of various different smells.
And yes y'all we will be prepared for anything. Hence the requiem for 3 or 4 people. We're going to be looking for ghost towns, but unfortunately here in AZ trouble is often easier to find[xx(] I've had more problems with freaks out in the desert here then I would have ever imagined. I would think if someone was out in the middle of nowhere doing some recreational shooting that people would be smart enough to leave you alone lest they get shot, but we've had people try to steal stuff, try to outnumber us in hopes of stealing stuff, and just plain getting drunk and taking potshots at us or near us. Guess that desert heat kills brain cells[xx(]
