I had bought my wife a bb/pellet gun sometime back, a Wal-Mart special doncha' know. Thought she could chase off the dogs and varmints that were hanging around. Wasn't worth crap. We took it back.
This morning my father pulls this "Daisy PowerLine 717" out of the closet and asked me to look at it. Said he had picked it up at the fleamkt for $5.00 sometime ago and was going to do something with it when he got time. (He's retired, got more time than I do!) My mother said, "Why don't you take it he's not going to do anything with it if he hasn't by this time." [?][V]I hate to see a woman give a man's things away, but he agreed, said "Why don't you fix it and give it to Deb' so's she can get those dogs". So I did.
All it needed was new 'O-rings'. When you shoot it now, after pumping 4-5 times (did I mention it was a pump?) it snaps like a 22c. I think she may even like it. Have to tell her tho' she could do more with this one than scare the dogs. Not the most powerful pistol, only 320+ fps and a max. range of 200yds. Still enough to put a hurting on something or someone up close. This might help 'adjust' her attitude about firearms too. [}:)]Then again maybe not, she thinks it's just an 'Air Gun'.[V]
I need to know tho', where can I get info' on this air pistol? It seems to be working alright but I want to make sure there's nothing I am over looking.

It is a single pump. I have had mine since the app 1980. You can easily work on the trigger to get the pull down.
The rear sight is plastic and mine appears to have shrunk a little and has some play. When I first got it I did some judicious peening on the frame to take out the play and now it is loose again.
Pellets only, no BBs.

Mag,
No rear sight on this one. That's the kind of thing I need to know tho'. Would like it to be as good as it can be.
D@D,
I will try to give them a call.
