I was reading through the post about 9mm vs. .45acp and saw some comments about things which happened to you and what you used when they did.Initially let me say I am sorry for you had to experience that because I know personally I hope I never do.You said you used a Taurus .45Colt snub nose so I am assuming you mean a Taurus 450?I am wondering what your experiences with this gun have have been like with recoil and accuracy and over all oppinion?I need a personal carry gun and the only gun I ownis just to large and heavy to consider to use and I am interested in the Taurus 450 but have had a couple of gun dealers try to steer me away from it because of recoil they say but I asked and none of them actually owned one so I am wanting to hear some real world experience. Thanks

Well, I think that for a snub nose the gun shoots suprisingly well. No you can't expect 1.5"-2" groups at 25 yards with it but it will hold a good 3"-4" pattern. The recoil is substantial for obvious reasons, it's launching a 200+gr slug and the gun is very light weight. I liked the gun but then I am partial to the big bore "boomers". I don't think you would be sorry for owning one but if I may make a suggestion, I had purchased a Charter Arms Bulldog .44spl stainless steel 5 shot revolver with a 2" barrel and It shot every bit as good with slightly less recoil and less than half the price of the Taurus Titanium 450. It dosen't look as pretty, it's a tad heavier but I carry that gun everyplace with me now when I can over the taurus.

But I'd still recomend the Taurus to anybody that asked about it any day of the week.
