Braggin' on one of my boy's

My youngest son just finished his 1st semester of college.

But before I tell you the result, let me tell you the story. He was a slow child. Did not speak till he was 5 yrs old and was afraid of strangers. Did not take to school well. Was diagnosed with ADD - attention deficit disorder. In 5th grade, one of his teachers just gave up on him...one day she asked the class who was going to college, so Anthony put his hand up to wit she promptly told him to put his hand down as he wouldn't make it past 6th grade.

With 5 hours a nite from my wife he graduated high school from the Honors Program. We just got his grades for his 1st semester at Univ of Delaware: 4 - A's and 1 - B / 3.77 gpa & Deans List. He took Calculus, Western Civilization, Microeconomics, Physical Science and Intro to Business Systems, not gimme classes.

Monday I'm going to the Superintendents Office and put a copy in his hands and ask him to give a copy to the teacher - yes!, she is still teaching young minds. Well, at least we won't have to put up with Pub Sch's and their crap any longer!

Great story buddy! Good for him!

But, I believe I'd find a way to hand the teacher those papers,
just to see the look on their face. [;)]

excellent, congratulations to him and you. I think that your son should be the on to hand the teacher a copy of his grades and tell her "thanks for your help, I couldn't have done it with it"

Hawkeye got it 100% right. Have your son (with you and your wife present) hand the report card to the teacher ( I don't really feel right calling someone who would give up on a child a "teacher"). Congratulations to all of you and have a great new year.

Congratulations to you & your son !

I think your son handing the grades to the teacher & thanking her for everything she didn't do would be appropriate.
I'd make sure you told the principal & schoolboard also.

Makes you wonder how many students she told this to over the years that didn't have parents like you & they didn't go any where in life. [:(!][:(!]

    Hey, HO, Whoa!!

If there's any congrat's to go around it's to MY WIFE and son. She's the one who put in 4-5 hrs a night EVERY night for 7 years...all I did was work to pay the bills.

All he wants out of life is graduate with a Masters Deg in Accounting... and one day be the worlds richest man...That's all.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE STUDENT AND HIS PARENTS!!!! Now to take outdoortexas suggestion, get that liberalthinking teachers address and ring her(or him)(liberals is liberals you know, sometimes you can't distinguish) and ring their doorbell about 11:45PM and when "it" comes to the door, present your case!!! You will have done two things then! Probably woke them up and then have them so befuddled they can't go back to sleep!!!!! GHD

Congratulations guy! There is nothing as good as seeing your kids succeed. [^] Do take it back to the teachers, the good ones will be proud and the duds will be astonished. It's a good feeling to be proud of your kids.

Teachers can do more to hurt and stop short the self confidence and future of young minds than any other person except maybe a kids parents.

I rejoice with you and your family. You should send a Christmas Card to the teacher and tell her "thanks for all the confidence in my son."

I can only see great things for your son. He obviously has an iron will.
