auction bidding question

I have an account with good A+ feedback 40+ buys/sells

Can I bid for someone that doesnt have an account but has permits for handguns as long as the pistol goes to my ffl OR his and the person i bid for uses his permit (s) and pays for the pistols.

Is anything illegal or on the edge for a tranasction like this. I know what a straw purchase is and wouldnt consider this if anything would not be on the up and up

the person I would be bidding for would purchase a MO/paypal/PMO to send to seller

the reason he has no account is not a credit issue he just doesnt use CC or any bank cards, his method of purchases is cash

I think your ok since they would do the paperwork on the gun. You might ask the seller up front to make sure they are ok with it.

I'm not a lawyer and I don't know if common sense applies, but it seems like it would be OK since the seller transfers it to an FFL and the FFL transfers it to your friend.
The road to hell is paved with COMPROMISE.

I've bid on and won things for people before. The funniest call I ever got was the brother of my sister-in-law. When I answered the phone there was this panting loud speaking voice that didn't sound like anyone I knew.

"HEY!!! (pant huff huff huff)...THIS IS CHRIS! (huff pant pant) A RIFLE IS ENDING (deeeeep breath in).....pause......(breathe out).... I CAN'T BID help...help..."

It took a minute to figure out who it was...but before I knew I was already logged in and asking for the auction number. I figured anyone in that big of a panic was going to pay....so I was fine with it.

If I got a MO with someone else's name on it, or the bidder tried to explain how he was bidding for a friend, I'd back out real fast.

Yes, you have to make arrangements with the receiving FFL first. Then, everything else between you & the seller has to appear that you are the only one involved. Your friend should be willing to put your name on the MO, & mail it with the FFL to the seller with your name on the return part of the envelope.

I would get it all out in the open so everyone knows what's going on and everything should be ok, never try to be deceitful or you will be suspect, just ask the cops on here they should agree with that statement.
just because you could doesn't mean you should
