How many of you have vanity license plates? Mine say DRPEPPR and 7UPYURS (I collect 7up and Dr Pepper stuff). My brother-in-law had a plate on his boat trailer (26' Eliminator pickle fork) that said GR8D8B8.

chorkie: I see you are in Michigan how often do you have to apply for them there?

Here In Kansas, they last 5 years.

They cost $35 extra the first year but after that its just the resistration fee for the next 4 years.

Bolthandle- As far as I know, once you get a particular plate as long as you pay your yearly license fees , you can keep it as long as you want without any additional hassle.

I have special SCV plates on my Blazer. They're not really vanity plates, but not the same as most others have either.

I've had vanity plates with my nickname of "TEAK" off and on since my first car. Now I only have the standard plate, albeit they are four digit legacies from my family.

chorkie: I forgot to tell you that you are offered the same plate after 5 years, but they nail you for another $35 or whatever the state wants at the time to renew them.

Have them on two of my bikes:

    2BAD4U

    and

    ABAD1

Thought about getting "Be Low Me" (BLOWME) but thought I would only want that in a 1 ton 4x4 with at least a 460 in it, a brush guard that would stop a train, and it would have to be about a 1990 vintage so I could carry liability insurance only, along with a minimum of a .44 mag wheel gun on the front seat -- plus never drive it to San Francisco.

I used to be an avid waterskiier and had plates in Missouri that said Ski-Rat since I was told I looked like a drowned rat when I got out of the water soaking wet.
My wife used to have plates in Kansas 2spoiled. She now has GOKTGO on her supercharged car.

I have vanity plates but I'd rather not plaster them on the internet. A few GB'ers have seen them in person.

There's a brand new Cadillac Escalade in town with vanity plates that read "MILF"

The DMV here in NV was going to let me have * (F*** off and Die) But I convinced myself not to get it since it was going to be in a car that made a lot of noise. I didnt feel the need to give every LEO to pull me over at each corner.[:D]

Not too paranoid about people knowing my plates. Face it, we have little privacy anyway and I know cops run my plates all the time. Besides, as a friend of mine once said you should live your life as if everything you do, both seen and unseen will appear on the front page of your local news paper.

My black '96 Trans Am had the plate 'TA4FUN'. That was a great one at border crossings, "courtesy stops" (I swear it tops out at 75, officer!), and first dates. ("Honest, cutie, it stands for Trans Am for fun.")

My wife has had the same vanity plates switched from car to car since she got her first car. I've tried to tell her to get rid of them, being a paranoid cop, I think vanities are too easy to remember which can be a problem for many reasons.
Anyway a few weeks ago she goes to Wally World for some dog food and this nut in front says "Hey, I know you, I recognize your car" than tells her he lives in the sh^t hole neighborhood where she works. He followed her around the store until she told a cop working security about him-He split when she started talking to the cop.
This could have just been a little panic on her part over nothing, but you never know about some people. So she has now decided to get rid of the vanity plates like I asked her to do years ago.
