Good for you. I sent one back three times. The last time, according to the repair ticket, they "welded" the crack in the rails. How do you weld plastic?

    NO MORE GLOCKS FOR ME!

gun would be have a wee bit more resilience

I even looked up on google how to spell resilience
and I forgot to add it to my post.
    I'm pathetic,aint posting no more.

For a gun reportedly costing $63 to make and selling on avg SIX HUNDRED--- l would think they could afford to replace it SEVERAL times [:0]

San Antonio PD attached a Glock to a cruiser and drove around the course thru mud, gravel and pavement then fired 3000 rounds thru it without a hitch before going with them.

    Can YOURS do that? [:X]

I guarantee they cleaned it, and inspected it, and THEN fired it. Had there been a dented part they would NOT have tried it. So my guess is, that if any 1911 owner had that little self respect to actually TRY that with their gun, it would be scratched to heck but if cleaned and lubed and inspected, yes, it WOULD do that. Plastic just doesn't stand up like steel does...just a law of nature.

AND my guess is also that any idiot who actually dragged their gun through mud and gravel and dirt would NOT even attempt to fire it without cleaning it at least cursorily. This was a ridiculous test, a gimmick only, in my opinion.

Of course, a scratched up, dirty Glock just looks like a....Glock. [:o)]

    Incorrect

Ok, so they are dumber than I thought! And what "expendable" fool did they con into pulling the trigger? You know darn well that a single piece of gravel obstructing the barrel would cause a serious accident--plastic wonder gun or not.

So you're categorically saying they didn't clean the gun after dragging it through mud and gravel? And they didn't even look at it to see if it was serviceable before just going ahead and firing it? I don't believe it.

Every semi automatic pistol with an unsupported chamber has had KBooms, You will hear more about Glocks because more Glocks are being shot.True that unsupported chamber/case rupture incidents can and do occur, but the results of these tend to be much more serious with certain designs.

Over many years of shooting I've experienced case failures with metal framed pistols on multiple occasions. I've had grip panels blown off, a magazine shot out to the ground, etc. but have never had functional components or a frame broken due to this.

On the other hand, I've seen two local incidents such as this with Glock pistols - each using factory fresh, major brand ammunition. In both cases it broke the gun's frame. Instant * time.

As I said, case failures CAN and DO occur. I carry a pistol as a tool and prefer to be prepared for when things to go wrong.

It's a personal decision, but anyone who thinks their polymer framed pistol isn't much more susceptible to being taken completely out of the fight by something as simple as a case rupture is BS'ing themselves.

Get Firefox. It has an inline spell checker that checks while you type... Of course it doesn't know if you meant to spell satyr or satire but it makes me look several times more smarter than I is.

I want to get a couple of Glocks myself, actually. I used to hate them because they are generally associated with the garbage entertainment that 'I don't want to be like'. I recently changed my mind though when I bought a KelTec Sub2000, which is a total piece of fooey, and realized that it takes Glock magazines. I also want one so that I can dress it up like a barbie doll with all the accessories (pronounced with a lisp) that are available for it. People that don't seem like complete tools also like it though so I'll give it a try.

Now I don't trust anyone that says they fired thousands of rounds through a gun and 'never' had any malfunctions. I've 'never' had a gun that didn't have some kind of malfunction sometime in its life.

Checking for a barrel obstruction is grade school.

I don't care what you believe, that is the way it was.

I carried a Glock for over 20 years every day in my pocket while wrenching on cars.

I would guess it must have dropped to the cement over 200+ times.

When I needed it one time, it went bang, scaring the crap out of two gang members and the muzzle blast was great at 3 feet.

If you have a problem with Glocks you might have "short barrel envy" [}:)][:X][:D]
If you carried a glock in your pocket with out having the trigger assembly completely covered you are extremely STUPID!!! And very LUCKY!!!![xx(]
