My FFL expired on May 1. I never got a renewal notice. BATFE says they sent it in February, but I didn't get it. Maybe USPS lost it. Maybe my wife misplaced it. She always gets the mail.
Whatever the reason, I didn't get it. Then, around April 18 or so, I noticed that my expiration date was looming close, so I contacted BATFE, and they emailed me a renewal application.
I quickly sent in my application, certified mail. I wanted to be sure someone got it. I checked tracking and it never showed to be delivered, so around the 25th, I sent in a second application and payment, this time Express Mail.
In the past, even when I sent in my renewal in February, I rarely received my new FFL before May 1. I would receive a letter of authorization (LOA) instead, good for 6 months. So, I figured I would be in limbo for a few weeks waiting for a LOA, and then waiting a few weeks longer for the actual license.
Well, I was wrong. Someone at the licensing center got on the stick and got things moving. I received my new license on May 2.
WOW!

And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
That once tax agency can go to hell, no matter how expedient they were in this matter.[xx(]
Yep, I was hoping it was about a big convention they held where cyanide capsules, and Jim Jones kool-aid were on the snack menu.
