My mother has demencia,(spelling) or to us common folks CRS cant remember sh$$.

Mom took it on her self to got to the bank on foot earlier this week, {mind you it was around 100 degrees out and the humidity was about 80% wearing a coat, to keep her warm} to take out some money out of her bank account,$700. She had to much money in it for a health care program thats shes on and now she and the rest of the family cant find it anywhere in the house and havent a clue where it might be.

So now I have POA or here bank account and she cannot write checks on her account either.

Had to do it.[:(]

If I hadnt, she wouldnt have any money left, and no, telling who could have taken advantage of this.

We cant believe that she did it, but the bank says she did indeed take out the money.

I have looked everywhere she usually hid her money and its no where to be found.

My brother says she could have given it to anybody and in her state of mind she wouldnt even remember it, which is very true.

Took her to doctor after her last fall, which was a couple weeks ago and he ran some blood tests and there wasnt something right with her kidney function, so my wife took her to a specilist to look at this, he orderd more tests and one was a total 24 urine test.

To make a long story short, My wife left a note on her kitchen cabinet for her to keep all of it and put it in a bottle provided in the fridge, well I asked the wife if she left a note that mom could read as she was setting on the pot.

She said she left a note.

Wrong!!!!!!!!

No note in front of pot for her to see, so there was no urine for the test.

I told wife you have to treat her condition as you would a small child, as she has to have someone to tell them everthing to do, because her short term memory is that of a deer, "once it goes back to feeding it has completly forgot at what it was looking at".

And just Thursday I recieved a letter from the IRS stating that I owe them $1119 for child tax credit and one dependent exemption for the tax year 2001, stating that I was not eligible for this because my sons social security no. was listed on someone eleses return.[:0]

I know whos return it was on and in the divorce, we were both given one each of our children for tax deductions.[:(!]

The ex.[:o)] said that she thought I was using my daughters SSN and she my sons. Where all along I was using his.

I just hope she didnt use both of them on that return, cause it will be expensive. Knowing my ex., it wouldnt suprise me if she did.

My * is covered and it just going to take some time, stamps and phone calls to clear it up.

It my have just been an honest mistake, and she used the wrong SSN..

Only time will tell.

Wish me luck.

bolthandle: I can feel for you. Both my Mom and Dad had Alzhiemers. My Dad passed away two years ago and my Mom passed away just a month ago. Both ended up just like babies, they had to be dressed, feed, cleaned and bathed. I got through it by remembering how much those people did for me and returning the same by doing whatever I could.

I can also understand the tax thing. The same thing is happening to my boss.

    81st FA BN WWII...Thanks Dad
