Don't know how far into littlerichieland (Illinois) you are going, but I am in Indiana only a couple of miles from the state line, about 30 miles southeast of Chicago. I could help you in the NE quadrant of IL, maybe further if no one else is closer.

I'm on the other side of the state from redceders so hopefully you don't get lost that bad to end up near me. [:p] Good luck on the trip.

I'm in East Tenn. The 75 isn't too far from the little town where I grew up. I think going that route means you'll be going through, or at least by Asheville N.C. doesn't it? I think I usually take the 75 when I head to Atlanta, but I'm afraid I don't remember the route all that well.

I'll actually be rafting on the 10th-13th, but if you want to give you an outline of the East-Tenn area, maybe some alternative routes, or places to stop in case the van breaks down; I could probably compile a list.

Expect a lot of construction on I-75 in GA and the minute you come into Chattanooga from GA there is a long road construction site AND the local LEOs are working it hard as a speed trap, double fines! I know when we cam back fron Cocoa Beach in July we hit all the construction and saw about 20 vehicles pulled over in Chattanooga! Also depending on the time of day, it is easier to come straight thru Atlanta on 75 then going around. We breezed through Atlanta both on the way down and back. Got stuck for 2 hours north of there coming back in construction! Like I said wacth the speed traps.
