How long does it take?

I ordered an AR15 .22 conversion unit from this Ceiner outfit in FL and after 5 & 1/2 weeks no delivery. Bank says they cashed my check. Anyone know how long it takes these people to get the product out? They apparently don't want email or telephone communication so it's hard to contact them.

I am growing less happy everyday.

I see so many of you with posts in the thousands, then look at my less than one hundred. How long did it take you guys to get so many posts? At this rate, I may die before I reach 500 posts! Of course, if that is the case, I won't have to worry about a 500 post give away!

Hahhhahaa..............3-4 months is NOT uncommon. Why didn't you ask before you ordered it? Ceiner SUCKS! Good luck, I wasn't laughing AT you, I was laughing WITH you.

I have never done business with Ciener, but he has been in business a long time. I don't imagine he would stay in business that long by cheating customers.

I've got an Atchisson conversion kit I can sell you cheap if the Ciener never shows up. I've never been impressed with either conversions. The best thing going is an AR-15 with a dedicated .22 LR upper with correct twist rate for light .22LR bullets. I also have an Armi Jaeger AP74 .22 LR that is a dead ringer for the M-16A1 inside and out.

Speaking from my experience of many years, I can tell you that many of the best craftsmen who do a lot of work develop sort of reclusive personalities. Being distracted when I'm working on a project where fit and appearance are critical is not a good thing.
If a craftsman is doing a lot of work for a lot of customers, he either has to hire a buffer employee to answer the phone and emails or just ignore it. If he hires someone, the price for the work has to go up. The best policy is, as Nunn's information about this particular individual implies, to leave the man alone until he gets through.

Shops with a lot of work of the same kind, like these conversions, will have certain processes that require set-ups. So, they schedule as many items as possible to have this process done at the same time.
Therefore, your piece will wait as other pieces are added to the bin, so to speak, untill enough pieces are ready to make the run economical, keeping the price down and making operations more efficient.[:)]

    "3-4 months"

Well, now I know why they don't take phone calls.

They should tell you in their ad about the wait time.

2 weeks sounds great but like I said it's already been over 5 so I guess I wasn't one of the lucky ones.

Of course, I'm still waiting for my truck, too. The one I paid for in full when I ordered it almost 6 weeks ago. They told me 4-5 weeks on that.

I heard that they are going to start requiring proof that you can afford the gas before taking delivery of any new trucks.....

I've spoken to the feller a few times and I get a distinct feeling I'm bothering him every time I call[:D]. I'm just a stupid guy who's giving him money for his goods.

I always called in the A.M. time adjusted for Florida. And payment always in Money Order (with most places they wait what 10 working days before they ship).

I figure I'd a crotchety old geezer (more so than I am already[:D]) if people kept calling me for placing orders or asking questions on gear. Also, the turn around for my stuff was about 2 weeks like CHGOTHNDER (but I called and made sure it was in stock[;)]). Never had problems "not" showing.

Ciener customer service will not win any awards and praise. Nearly every forum site has stories of their rudeness. Very few complaints regarding quality.

Purchased a .22 conversion kit for a BHP, sent my check in August, got the kit in December. First rate product, can't say the same for their turn-around-time.

Get a Czech V-22 22lr dedicated upper. They are cheap.

I won one here on GB and got it in a few weeks.

I visited Ciener's shop, just south of Titusville FL, several years back to look at a suppressor for a 10/22. The young owner was polite, obviously hard working and had a superior product. He was working out of a small somewhat run-down shop. (He has since moved and I have not seen his new location.)

The Ciener conversion kit I have for AR 15 works well and was worth the money and time involved. Should I ever decide to go through all the hoops & leaps to obtain a suppressor, I will consider his as a top contender for my money.
