I don't mean to brag, but how cool is this?

Rifles were built nearly 30 years apart by the same smith. Top is my 460 Jeffrey built on a Remington Model 30S action. Below is the new one, a Remington Model 30 in 300 H&H. The 460 has a 25" barrel while the 300 wears a 24" tube and a hood on the front sight. Otherwise they are nearly identical.

The 300 by itself...

And the pair...

    Very nice work, Doc.

If I were that talented, I would brag about it.

Very nice, and I consider it as sharing not bragging. Bragging you have to add a NANANANANANA ya'll ain't got what I got after it.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Be careful not to use 300 H&H ammo in the 460 Jeffery! [:D]

Nice rifles. Curious why the smith chose a shorter barrel length.

I don't consider it bragging at all. How do they shoot? Are you thinking of going to the Dark Continent? It's pretty cool hunting!![;)][:D]
    Thanks for sharing,

Yes it's cool and yes you meant to brag, but that's okay.

Now post some targets and let's see if they group alike.

The original 30-'06 barrel was rechambered to 300 H&H so it's 24" long.

I think I need to do something about the really awful two stage trigger on the 300.

Something interesting about the 300 is the serial number is 122.

What are you going to use them for??? Although I guess they will have a prominent place in your safe.

I have about 3-4 guns that actually work for a living. Mostly to meet the need for personal protection. The rest are just to have and shoot. I don't hunt, I just like to shoot.

Very interesting choice of calibers for "just shooting"!

I have a little bit of the entire power spectrum. Start at 223 and end up at the 460. Only gap is around 33-35 caliber. No 338 Winchester or 35 Whelan.

What fun is bragging if you can't say...NA-NANA-NANA, I bet you wish you had one of these, ha ha. [;)]

There are some people who always sound like they're bragging,
whether they mean to, or realize it, or not.
    8-8.5 on the coolometer.
    9-9.5 with targets.
