In America is costs about $30,000 a year to house an inmate. Here is the alternative....

Cost of airfare to China = $525 one way

Annual imprisonment bill from Chinese = $ 375 per year

Savings to American tax payer = Priceless :)

Yeah, it sounds good on paper, but think of how many more Chinese immigrants we'd probably end up getting over here in return! With our luck, it would be a minimum two-fer deal - or worse - favoring China.[:D]

Besides, the Liberals would never go for it. The Chinese have no quams over executing criminals post haste and with no pomp or circumstance. A bullet to the back of the head. Barbara and Hillary would go absolutely berserk!!![:D]

    Let's think about this rationally...

Air fare to China might not be that much now, but with increased flights and the resulting demand for fuel, the price of transit would increase quite a bit.

So forget about flying them there.

But I'm pretty sure making our prisoners swim there would be free.[:D]

Why can't we do it like the old days? Chain them to an oar, have a guy walk down the center with a whip, and let them row themselves to China.

There would be a union protesting that we are outsourcing just for the cheaper labor, the guards, the cooks, the admin....

I suspect the most powerful unions in America today is the municipal and governmental employee unions.

Why not make a deal with Mexico to hold the prisoners. Mexican prisons
    have a "way" about them.

You got it! And all Democratic supported, of course. I wonder how long it will be before Congress is unionized?

You might want to read the Constitution, it's amendments, and the Bill of Rights.

    PBJ --

I have read them all. Several times. Does not say outsourcing prisons is a violation per se. I suspect we could contract for providing their constitutional rights and no cruel and unusual punishment etc.

I think it would be great to provide the perverts and drug dealers with Chinese internet and TV. Heck we could even provide them a Chinese law library -- should only take up about one shelf.[}:)]

The more I think about this idea the more I like it.[;)]
