What do Iran, Burma, and S. Dakota have in common?

Iran, Burma (Myanmar), Algeria, Kenya, Ehtiopia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Tanzania, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Congo, along with South Dakota, all have bans on abortion including rape and incest.
Think about that the next time someone says that's the way America should go, because if you want America to be a backward filth-encrusted cesspool, then by all means, follow the lead of the big dogs.

Causation.
Note the difference in spelling.
Interesting!
Shouldn't this be over on politics anyway?
I'll remember you said that the next time you bring up the fact that states with CCLs have lower crime rates than those without.[}:)]
nemesis,
So I suppose it's irresponsible of a woman to let herself get raped?
Take a good look at similarity posted: "...all have bans on abortion including rape and incest."
dheff,
The tyranny of the majority should never be used as justification for the oppression of the minority. You know that and I know that. As gun owners (which makes us the minority), we should be leery of anyone using majority will as the sole justification for any sort of legislation.
Isn't that somewhere in the constitution that everyone thinks Bush has shredded, and now you support the shredding of this part because you don't agree with it?
PS, the majority of homes in America have at least one firearm. That's what has Fienstien's panties in a knot!
So dont worry EMM - thE teenage h*o*o*k*e*r that you knocked up can still get your slinky child ripped from her uterus right now and your wife doesnt have to know about it
It seems rather hypocritical of you to call anyone a h*o*o*k*e*r* when you are contemplating becoming a pornographer.
In your "Ethical Question" post, you said you were conflicted - I assume it was between money and your morals.
If that is a conflict for you, then you are no man at all.

I believe that Ireland and Poland are also included in that group. Abortion is virtually banned in Poland, with such heavy restrictions that only around legal 150 abortions are performed per year (down from around 100K when the communists ran the country). What each of those two countries have in common is a whole bunch of meddeling by the church in the day to day running of the government, as well as peoples day to day lives. I used to tell my mother, who longed for the communists to fall from power in her native Poland, that most likely all that would happen was that the Catholic Church would move back in to fill the void after the comminists left and that has happened in many instances.
Zerodin,
I'll remember you said that the next time you bring up the fact that states with CCLs have lower crime rates than those without.[}:)]
Do you care to point me to a time that I've said that without doing a bit more work - such as pointing out that passing a CCL has been quickly followed by a decline in crime rates, or pointing out that you can cross a narrow river and see a tenfold drop in violent crime when the only difference between the two shores is the gun law - or just use my argument against me when the context makes it fall on its face?
You are saying that an abortion ban turns a place into "a backward filth-encrusted cesspool." Prior to 1970, how many states allowed abortions and how many banned them? Please specifically indicate to us how the states with bans were "backward filth-encrusted cesspool" as compared to the states that allowed abortions, at the time. Otherwise, you have done no better than "Manhattan was bought for an insanely low price, so therefore Alaska will be Bin Laden's next major target."
Zerodin says CCW's CAUSE the increase in crime.
The post said that all 3 states had laws against abortion. It didn't even seem to say outright that those laws caused anything.
The causation vs. correlation stands.

Or decrease. You have me confused with your state's delegation to the US Senate, which isn't hard since I look like them. [;)]
EMM - Please correct yourself. As of right now South Dakota allows abortions to ANYONE women who wants one at ANYTIME for ANY REASON. A bill has been passed through their house and not even yet signed by their governor that would seek to change current law. As we all know (maybe you dont) , the new law would be contradicting the current precedent of Roe vs Wade and thus not applicable until it was confirmed by the US supreme court. This is years away if anything.

Wow, where do you get a blade fine enough to split that hair?
If or when this law is passed, only effect is the loose women of that state will have to drive farther to undo their mistakes.
Sexual assault isn't that prevalent in South Dakota, I hope.
You betcha![:p]
Here we go again a runnin in the muck throwing stones that land no where.
SD home to Dachel? Home to Janklo? Home to no abortion? Home to some great people and some not so great people. Just like the rest of America.
This post divides people and creates hardship on the board. There are two kind of opinions on this: Those in favor and those against. Both have rational arguments, but that rational thought always turns into religious anti religious positions which are not any more resolvable in discussion than telling Muslims Christians are their friends and telling Christians that all Muslims want is to be understood.
Back to the political forum where this belongs. Please.
