Shifting responsiblity from people to guns.

I think the shifting of responsibility from a person to an inaminate object like a gun or a weapon is a sign or mental retardation or insanity. Often times, you hear " Guns are evil", or "Guns are bad"
Think about it!,
To shift responsibility that way is a sign of mental illness. To dodge responsibility and assign transference to an inanimate object is insane!!

Bandit to Doc Halliday:"You're just a drunk piano player, you're so drunk , you're probably seeing double!"
Doc Halliday: "I've got two guns, one for each of you! "

    Yes..of course.

However..it is also a cute way for politicians with plans to disarm a population.
By demonizing a tool....they can remove that tool from the hands of men who disagree with total subjugation.

It is all propaganda based vote gathering tool used by the LEFT [}:)]. It seems like anything they could sway the bleeding heart group and the hollywood star set to put there side into power is all fair not that the ones that go forth and do these sorry things need to be sent to get there just reward in the form of the death sentence instead they want to lock them up and study them and find out why they went loved what is unjust is to let them sit on death row forever and a day or life and wast tax payers money

Why not...cars are evil....how many people die in wrecks every year?
How about swimming pools being evil...I heard and don't know if its true, but more kids under 5 die by drowning in five gallon buckets of water than are accidentally killed by firearms.

    Ruger22;
You are not going to get an argument from me.

Is that the same "kind" of mentality it takes, for someone to say that it was not their fault that they ran a red light (causing an accident), because they were "on the phone?"

It is called taking responsibility for ones actions.
Nope can't do that, gotta blame something or someone else.

There are certainly precedents and counterparts. The Volstead Act and 3-wheeler ATV ban come to mind. When for the public good is given as cause, the shift you describe invariably obtains. That is why gun fatality statistics will forever fall on deaf ears (i.e., "if only one child's life is saved, it will be worth it").

How about we invest in smart cars instead of smart guns. Just think how many lives could be saved if we had to blow into a breathalyzer tube to start the car.

Yes you do note a bit of sarcasm.

"Responsibility" is a word that has absolutely no meaning to way too many individuals that are only "Taking up Air" and have no idea they are even alive! Don't ask me how to teach "Responsibility".... I have no idea! Please Correct me if I'm wrong......Flame away so I know who on this Board doesn't understand the word.......

Hey Woodsrunner -- how about smart politicians? Oops. That would be impossible. They are smart enough to jump on the band wagon because it is a vote getter. The right coast and the left coast are losing it or have lost it -- it being reality.

Still, I like the song "The Devils Right Hand" by Steven Earl. Good tune.
