    Never fear POOF MAN is here protecting society from those who have a sense of humor ,and ,or an opinion.

    To Thine Own Self Be True

    Yet here, Laertes! Aboard, aboard for shame!
    The wind sits in the shoulder of your sail,
    And you are stay'd for.
    There ... my blessing with thee!
    And these few precepts in thy memory
    Look thou character. Give thy thoughts no tongue,
    Nor any unproportion'd thought his act.
    Be thou familiar, but by no means vulgar.
    Those friends thou hast, and their adoption tried,
    Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel;
    But do not dull thy palm with entertainment
    Of each new-hatch'd, unfledg'd comrade. Beware
    Of entrance to a quarrel but, being in,
    Bear't that th' opposed may beware of thee.
    Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice;
    Take each man's censure, but reserve thy judgement.
    Costly thy habit as thy purse can buy,
    But not express'd in fancy; rich, not gaudy;
    For the apparel oft proclaims the man;
    And they in France of the best rank and station
    Are of a most select and generous chief in that.
    Neither a borrower, nor a lender be;
    For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
    And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
    This above all: to thine own self be true,
    And it must follow, as the night the day,
    Thou canst not then be false to any man.
    Farewell; my blessing season this in thee!

    Well, looks like we lost another thread. Since my post in that thread obviously went into Cyberia (just made that up, it's where poofed threads and posts go) with it, I'll repost.I followed that link to HCT and was only surprised by one thing. Never saw the word "cumquat" used as a "dirty" word before. Would give the guy high marks for originality except for one thing - he probably really DID think that it was scatological in some way!(A cumquat is a small Chinese orange, just in case you didn't already know that.)

    I poofed it bud, Thought it might get nasty, I was getting a little hot uder the Collar on the subject http://forums.gunbroker.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=95458

    This is the part that gets me flamming mad

    Perfect Example: If you have a well on your property and own the water/mineral rights, The county has imposed and require a meter and regulate the usage of your own well water. If you pass the alotment allowed you are charged according.

    This has been one of the biggest fights here. Most dug well's years ago so they did not have to depend on city water. But now the regulations are so tight and costly just to get a few 1000, gallons a month its not worth it.

    Who is in control of your property ?

    I totally agree with you, I am in the water well business . So far i dont have the metered problems you describe, but some neighboring counties have started water conservation districts. The water well drillers have to apply for permits before they can drill the well and they have to state how much water is going to be pumped G.P.M . the cost of the permit is according to the size of wells and the amount of water that is gonna be pumped. So far they havnt put meters on existing wells to my knowledge , but i have a feeling that they will in the future. I dare those suckers to try to meter my water, they might put a meter on a piece of pipe that they think is a well, but they will be sadly mistakened!!!

    I just had to purchse a permit for a water well. This is not an irrigation well as I would had had to go to the state which I have done. this well is to water cattle. ican be no larger than 79 gpm. No bigger than 4". If I was to permit a irrigation well I would have to go down to the clabuoune aqifer and tell them how many gpm I wish to produce and also what I would use per year. Nothing to it.

    dcon, when you say "nothing to it" it seems that you dont mind getting the permit. The more control they take the more freedom you lose. You , me , everyone shouldnt have this much control over our own water source. I think control over how water wells are constructed is a good idea because aquifers can and are being polluted. But to charge fee's for water usage aint nothing but another government official lining their pockets.
