I am looking at a Beretta 92 Compact type M on auction here.I love the look of it but it says it has a 4.3" barrel is that really a compact? If anyone here carries one how does it carry? That would be the intended purpose and I sure like how it looks so I hope to get some good feed back on its functioning and its size.I would also like general opinions on this brand/maker as to quality overall accuracy,reliability..etc....For you compact owners what is the size of this gun comparable to?For you Beretta whatever owners were you pleased with your purchase and if so just how much?Thank You.

If you want a Beretta in either .40S&W or 9MM with a 10RD capacity with either gun you might want to look at the Beretta 9000.Its very compact(not alot Bigger than a .380)shoots great 25yrd groups, and has never failed to feed or function with me.There are two Models available the DAO version which I own and carry as a backup weapon,or the Type F with a Decocker. Also you can use the Model 92 15 RD Magazines with a factory spacer, but it makes the butt of the gun much longer.HTH

I have the 9000 and regularly carry it. I like it. it's the .40 cal model.
I am pleased with all my Beretta products, my 92FS .40 cal my 9000.40 cal and my 950 in .25 cal (in a wallet holster)

Pack a Berretta Model 92 FSC from time to time. Same size as my S. & W. Model 411 .40. The Berretta uses 13 Round mags and was only made for a short time in 1993. It is a smaller version of the regular 92 FS model. With one in the chamber, I have 14 rounds going in. Carrying two extra loaded mags gives me a total of 40 rounds. I have only a total of 33 rounds with the .40 when carrying two extra mags.

The biggest difference between the two is that the Berretta is thinner and lighter........My 2 cents worth!

    I carry a Beretta 9357 compact in .357sig, the wife carries a 9040 in
.40 S/W, had them for about 3 yrs, about 1000 rds through them, never a failure on either. Clean them once a month and change out / rotate between 4 spare mags is the only maintance they get.
Both are more compact and lighter to carry than the others.

I'm not sure how the smaller ones carry, as I carry full size models. Note my user name, I love 'em. I have a medium size frame, and I do not have any problems or reservations carrying either, and sometimes both of them.
