Just got a Hadden Pal rod

It's a super nice 5.5 foot rod that comes in an aluminum tubed case that also holds the aluminum and cork handle. There is a take down screw through the handle that holds the rod in tight. Not bad for five bucks.

    It's a nice Hadden. The handle is machined out of a block of aluminum with the grip wrapped in cork. Always wanted one when I was a kid, but they were $200. I am now at the point in my life where I could afford a $200 rod and find one for $5. Ain't life funny? That old stainless real from the 20's will go nicely with it.

    BDJ, Who made the reel? I had 2 that were in excellant shape, but sadly lost while moving.

    The reel was made by a name that I associate with tools. Northern mid-west. I'm drawing a blank on the name though. I'll have to go dig it out of the garage tomorrow.
