NC has a 6day non-resident for 40 bucks.You can pick one up at Walmart or a sporting store when you cross the border. I'll be happy to pick one up for you if you e-mail your driver's license# and all other personal info they usually ask. I'll even cover the cost if when I come down you feed me til I'm not hungry anymore. I figure I'll make out by a wide margin on that deal. Roadkill is ok by me.
I stopped by the shop today to get some shells on sale and lo and behold there was a model 12 Winnie on the rack. It was so pretty and marked so low I had to buy it. So if your's is not ready by Monday you can use this one.

Only 30" is a SxS Stevens Riverside F&M choked . The model 12 is a 28" adj.choke reblued. Why it was so cheap I guess. Still a very nice shotgun. Action is slicker than frog spit. Short slide version too. Fast fast fast. Gave less than $300 for it.[:D]

Winnie aka Winchester, Model 12, short slide action shotgun.Considered one of the easiest pointing guns ever made.Well balanced and endowed with Winchesters' fine old barrels that are known for consistent,even patterns and killing on both ends.They were made from the early part of the century up to the late fifties early sixties. The oldest one I've seen was 1924, the newest 1959. Average price for a decent field grade above seventy percent gun is around $450-$600.The skeet models can be over $1,000.They have a factory installed comp and a vent ribbed barrel at 26". Be a great grouse or quail gun. They were changed to the model 120 and then to the model 1200 and have gotten steadily worse with each name change.I'd take an old model twelve over a new BPS or 870. Older Ithacas are the closest in comparison.

I'd love to tell you where to find a beauty of a '97 for a very good price, but I've learned my lesson about that. I also know where a 32" model 12 is. I am all about shotguns.The real gun that won the west was the shotgun. My wife is trying to get my 18" 870 with the pistol grip butt and the eight shot tube from me as her carry gun.Hang the sling over your shoulder and put on a jacket and it disappears.Wicked instrument of destruction. I've got an extra box of those Law Enforcement low velocity buckshots if you want some.
