Never saw a gun store while I was over there, seemed to be very gun unfriendly. I will point you toward any Widmer bar. They have great beer and even if you dont drink they have great food.

rugergunz I have to disagree with you, both Wa. and Or. have really reasonable gun laws and tons of gun stores compared to where I currently reside (the occupied territory of Ca.) If I knew specifically what areas' of seattle or portland you would be in I might be able to be a little bit more help.

Well I am flying into Seattle and driving down to Portland I have a couple days and a rental car and lots of free time so just list them off I might go to all of them! There is only one real gun store here in Juneau and I am excited to go shopping. But mostly like I said I am looking to score a couple cases of cheap plinking FMJ ammo.

    Dave,

When I was over there I was at Cascade General Shipyard. I dont know if youre familiar with where that is or not. I cant remember exactly how to get there, but when walking around, never saw anything resembling a sporting store. Across the river it seemed like Yuppie coffee houses and the expensive classic clothing stores, etc. I probably just never got to the right places.

I was within walking (3-5 miles) from the Trailblazers stadium.

I live just outside Seattle and know every gun shop around here and would recomend Bulls-Eye Guns. The route from Sea-Tac airport to Portland will take you right by the now famous Bulls-Eye guns known for the Bushmaster that was stolen and used in the D.C. sniper shooting. They have enough guns in there to keep you busy for awhile. Also an indoor shooting range and ammo. They are located right off I-5 in Tacoma.

All the Seattle shops in your list are about 30 to 40 minutes the opposite direction of portland. I also forgot to mention one of my favorite shops (Federal Way Discount Guns) in federal way, which again is on your way to Portland. They are very knowledgable, helpful and with a large selection to look at.

I'm over by the Coast, and there is one GREAT gun store nearby - probably 600+ firearms, no State sales tax, and the lowest prices I've ever seen. Also, you can test fire out their back door. Give me a call if you have the time and I'll turn you on to them. I'm about 1/2 hour East of Lincoln City.

Could probably put you up for a night or two, also.

Email me if you want my phone numbers: ThunderboltRanch@msn.com

Doug / Marine thanks for the offers I'll email ya guys sometime soon. I am going to be staying with a friend in Lincoln City but she works so I have to entertain myself for a few days which to me means going gun shopping one of the things that sucks about living in Juneau is there is only one gun shop and the guy thinks he is Jesse James the prices on stuff are unbelivable. Too bad I can't buy handguns down there

If you're headed to Portland (or from Portland to Lincoln City) from Lincoln City, you will pass within 100 yards of my house on Highway 18. If you're going to Salem from LC, it's about 3 miles.

I'm about 10 minutes from the gun store I told you about.

    I'd really enjoy meeting you.

I think you could buy a handgun if you bought it through your local dealer and had it shipped to him. You'd probably want to bring some copies of his FFL. Wouldn't it be just like buying one on GB??

If you feel like driving about 20 miles north of Seattle there's Sam's Gunshop in the Lynnwood area. Has a shooting range and everything.

I live about 10 miles from Kesselring's Gunshop. I'm there at least once a week. Ron Kesselring is a great guy and so are the boys who work there. Don't ever make the mistake of thinking Ron doesn't have a particular gun just because you don't see it in the store. What he has on display is about 20% of what he has on site. The basement is full and so are his two warehouses. If you're looking for something, ALWAYS ask.

Hey 925: That ain't highway 9, brother, that's old highway 99. Highway 9 is another 10 miles east in Sedro Woolley.

    To get to Kesselring's gunshop:
Take Interstate-5 north to the Bow Hill exit, approx. 5 miles north of Burlington.
Take a right at the end of the off-ramp.
Go through the traffic signal and down to the stop sign at the bottom of the hill.
Take a left. You're now on old highway 99.
Drive approx. 2 miles, watch for the racetrack (Skagit Speedway) on your left, about half a mile past the speedway you'll see Kesselring's Gun Shop on the left.

Expect it to be full of people all day, every day.

925: I see you're from Ocean Shores. I haven't been over there in 5 years or more. There was a tavern about half way between the main drag and the beach called Wimpy's or Popeye's or something like that. Is it still open? Sure as hell had good burgers there.
