Planning Phx area shoot on Jan 10th

Hey GB'ers in the Phx, AZ area (or anywhere else for that matter[:D]), I'm planning a get-together/blast-off for the 10th of January, we'll be doing this at our usual Table Mesa Road location unless someone knows a better spot. If interested, reply so we can keep you updated on arrangements and get contact ph#'s e-mailed to you. Side note: There will be at least one digital cam there so if your shooting abilities suck or you cry about recoil, your good name will get drug through the mud here after we get the pictures uploaded and everyone will laugh at you so be forewarned[;)]

    I have a ton of stuff going on in Jan. but if I can sneak away on the tenth PHX is a ten hour drive for me. I'll keep you posted if I can show up. What kind of shooting you got going on out there?

    There are three vehicles to damage as you see fit, any appliances that are brought along, and hopefully some Tannerite. We will shoot at stuff up to and including steel plates and a first aid kit is recommended[;)] We will hopefully have at least one lawnmower available and who knows what else. We'll probably bring a target stand or watermelons and do some long range shooting as well. We shoot what we bring and what we find.

    I'll be in town this weekend for the fiesta bowl . Wouldn't be able to fly out two weekends in a row . Look foward to doing some shooting when I get out there though . Take care and have fun , SxS

    Where exactly is "Table Mesa Road", I might be able to go(NEED[;)] to break in my CAV-15). I have been wanting to try my M38(7.62 x 54R) on a car, dont know why just do.

    KJ, count me in. Will Phillybilly be there? I still need to return his DVD. Also free this weekend, still on vacation. I'll call ya. Got the cosmoline off the SKS and am dying to try it out.


    Dave - For small cal plinking, I have a three-hanging-disc spinner. For handgunning, a dueling tree and a newly built who-knows-what-to-call-it thing with steel plates that hang head and chest height. As far as long range, well, I can't shoot worth spit at long range, so I usually go for the big targets like the dead cars. Everything from pistols, pimp guns, shotguns, lead spraying semi-autos to a few nice long range bolt guns (since Joe can shoot long distance).

    phxtravis - table mesa road is about 15 minutes north of Phx on I17(past Anthem). Fot that matter, it's probably 15 minutes past Ben Avery (I17 & Hwy 74). We usually get together someplace then head north together. 4X4's aren't a necessity where we go (especially if you drive like Kingjoey), but the more clearance the better.

    I have a old S-10 Blazer that seats 5 and Familyguy has a Ford 4x4 (F-250?) that should seat 5 and will probably get you there if he doesn't get lost[:D] We'll probably meet near the exit or at Deer Vallley Rd and go in together, the main road isn't too bad, but the road to the car spot is pretty nasty and ground clearance is a must. Anybody who's going can e-mail me and I'll get them a ph#

    ps It's an F150 (4X4 King Cab makes it seem bigger), and I do NOT own a Ford, it's my wife's and I drive it only when necessary and under protest.
